Winfrey said some very wise words to me the other day,

‘The sound of plot is always so amazing until you realize that you actually have to leave your bed and get dressed for it.”

She is right, I always complain how buried I am in projects and deadlines that I forget to have fun. More often than not I will make plans only to end up cancelling them at the last minute just because the sound of home is more comforting than heading out. Lately however, I have been making time to get trying to get out more and it has paid off. I recently went to the Quad Bikes pitch at Galleria Mall to just chill and feel the wind in my hair. Turns out there was a Rally going down that day and they were closed butĀ  since I was there while they were setting up I ended up having a mini photoshoot instead. Because you know GIRLS!

The manager, Kevin was too kind.

Before you ask why I am wearing heels, I will have you know that Karma had her hand in this and we lost a brave soldier that day. Lucky for me Bata and her faithful Ngomas are always reliable. What I do regret however, is leaving behind my leather jacket. I feel like it would have pushed the envelope so much further but the sun in Nairobi has not been forgiving.

I put together this monochrome look from some of my older pieces. The jungle green was the perfect camouflage against the red dust and if things had gone my way, I would probably be taking pictures in orange overalls. I can’t wait to go back to Quad Bikes though; I still feel that need for speed.

Follow me on Instagram to find out when I do return, or tell me about your experience when you do go.

I just wish I had my leather jacket, it would been so much more biker. Glad you like the look regardless.

I always drool over those bikes everytime my chauffer(kbs or naboka “shuttle”) cruise by…. The dust billowing behind, the raving of the of the engines, the drifts on the sunny-langata red soil, getting dirty, like a little boy…. It’s an epic experience…. I have to quench my craving, soon befor age limit me!!!!
