My childhood memory of weddings involved begging my sister, Beryl for hours to help me get dressed. Of course with a ten year age difference this gets old fast and soon I was left to my own devices. There have been many failed attempts to look decent over the years but as soon as I learned that the simpler you go the better, I have had a much easier time getting ready for weddings. Of course it also helped that I watched Beryl and mother for so long. December is the peak of wedding season and there is no reason not to end it with a bang. I picked up this jumpsuit from VivoActivewear and I was very excited to style it for a wedding.
A jumpsuit is the perfect game changer, especially if you have worn African and shift dresses before, this look is totally unexpected. The cape with the jumpsuit adds the perfect layer to break the monotony of the jumpsuit. Hats have been considered for many years the appropriate headdress for weddings by the British. If you did not already know the royal family kills it when it comes to hats and fascinators are absolutely banned. It is very elegant to visit a milliner and get a hat made for special occasions and between me and you it definitely helps with a bad hair day. If you know me the you know I always do the most to look elegant without really overdoing it. I hope my look inspires you to try something a little more daring for that wedding this coming weekend.
Don’t forget to leave a comment, I would love to know if you would try out a similar look. Also follow me on social media and subscribe to the blog, exciting things to come soon.
